Relay

Privacy Policy

Effective October 3, 2026. Applies to the Relay desktop app (macOS, Windows, Linux) and the Relay mobile app (iOS, Android).

The short version. Relay has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Audio and camera images leave your device only when you use a feature that needs AI processing, and only to the processors listed below. Relay does not store your audio, images, or transcripts on its servers.

What stays on your device

What is sent for processing, and when

These requests go through the Relay API at relay.suhaanthayyil.com, which forwards them to the processor and returns the result. The Relay API does not save request content. Like any web server, our host (Vercel) keeps short-lived request logs, including IP addresses, for security and rate limiting. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models and may keep it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring.

Connecting your phone to your computer

When you pair the mobile app with the desktop app, they talk directly over your local network using a pairing code. Remote Mic audio goes from your phone to your own computer, which then captions it as described above. Sound alerts and captions go from your computer to your phone. None of this passes through Relay's servers.

Permissions

You can turn any permission off in your device settings. Features that need it will stop working until you turn it back on.

What we do not do

Children

Relay is a general audience accessibility tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Deleting your data

Because Relay does not keep your content on its servers, there is nothing to delete on our side. To remove everything stored locally, uninstall the app or use Reset in the app settings.
